History of SJAS:

The SJIS was inaugurated in September 2001 in Sharm el Sheikh to provide quality education for both Egyptian and foreign resident students from pre-school up to the end of the primary stage. In September 2002, a Preparatory Department was added, and in September 2003, the school introduced the Secondary Department with two different curricula: Egyptian and American.

St. Joseph’s Private Language School has been proudly accredited by AdvancED (now Cognia) since 2004, the year we launched our American Diploma Program for both Egyptian and international students from Pre-K through Grade 12. In March 2010, we successfully completed our first re-accreditation visit by the AdvancED team and received official recognition from NCA-CASI (North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement), AdvancED’s accreditation division at the time.

Our commitment to continuous improvement was reaffirmed during our subsequent re-accreditation in March 2015, and again in November 2020, when our school earned another five-year term with results that exceeded Cognia’s global performance averages.

We are now preparing to welcome a Cognia accreditation team once again in March 2026, as part of our ongoing mission to uphold high standards of academic quality and institutional effectiveness.

The school currently offers accommodation for Pre-School, Elementary, Middle School, and High School students within the age range of 3 to 18 year olds. English is the language of instruction and we set high standards for all of our students.
