Building Strong Foundations for Lifelong Success

Welcome to the Preparatory Stage at St. Joseph’s Private Language School – National Section, where students in Prep 1 through Prep 3 embark on an exciting academic journey built on strong educational values, creativity, and personal development.

Core Curriculum

Aligned with the Egyptian Ministry of Education, our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to meet age-appropriate developmental needs while encouraging critical thinking, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. Students receive daily instruction in:

  • Arabic – Including grammar, reading comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, writing, listening, and speaking
  • English Language – With a strong emphasis on reading, writing, speaking, and listening
  • Mathematics – Covering numbers and operations, algebra, geometry, data and statistics, and measurements
  • Science – Introducing key concepts from biology, chemistry, physics, and earth/space science
  • Social Studies – Helping students understand their communities and the wider world

Our English program includes structured weekly assessments using “O-Level” and “Hello Plus” materials for Prep 1 and Prep 2, while Prep 3 transitions into more advanced A-Level evaluations. Students are guided to develop vocabulary, grammar comprehension, and confident speaking skills in preparation for national exams and future academic challenges.

Enrichment Subjects

In addition to core academics, students participate in a variety of enrichment subjects that promote creativity, physical health, and digital literacy:

  • French or German (as a second language)
  • Computer Science
  • Art
  • Physical Education

These classes provide a well-rounded education, offering students diverse ways to explore their interests and talents.

Religious Education

All students study Religion (Islamic or Coptic) in accordance with the Ministry of Education guidelines, supporting the development of moral values, cultural identity, and respect for others.

Character Development & Community Engagement

At St. Joseph’s, we believe in educating the whole child. Through our community service program, students in the preparatory stage are involved in meaningful activities such as organizing school events, collecting donations for orphans, and preparing Ramadan food boxes. These experiences help foster a spirit of empathy, responsibility, and active citizenship.

Ministry of Education Evaluation System – Preparatory Stage (Prep 1–3)

At St. Joseph’s Private Language School – National Section, student assessment is guided by the evaluation framework established by the Ministry of Education (MOE). This system ensures continuous monitoring of academic progress, personal responsibility, and behavior throughout the academic year.

Comprehensive Evaluation Components

The Ministry’s evaluation plan includes the following key elements:

  • Weekly Evaluations, Monthly Exams, and Term Assessments
Students in Prep 1 through Prep 3 will undergo weekly quizzes, monthly assessments, as well as mid-year and final exams. The results from these evaluations contribute to the student’s overall academic grade for the year.
  • Homework Assignments
Homework is assigned daily and is an essential part of the learning process. Students are expected to complete and submit assignments on time. Failure to do so may result in deductions from the homework grade as specified by the MOE guidelines.
  • Behavioral Expectations
Students are expected to demonstrate respectful and appropriate conduct toward peers, teachers, and the school community. Behavior is monitored regularly and reflected in the behavior grade. Violations may lead to grade deductions and further disciplinary action as per school policy and MOE regulations.
  • School Supplies
Students must come to school fully prepared each day with the required materials, including books, copybooks, and subject-specific booklets. A detailed schedule of required materials will be provided prior to the start of the school year.

This dynamic and comprehensive program not only meets the academic standards of the Ministry of Education but also promotes creativity, cultural awareness, and social responsibility. The Prep 1–3 stage serves as the ideal foundation for future learning —preparing students to thrive in both academics and life.

Let us work together to make this academic year a journey of excellence for every child!
